VII. Your Leadership
Leadership requires clarity and purpose, empathy and emotional intelligence, huge amounts of energy, the will to share … and the decision to lead.
As you define your voice, become clearer about your role, collaborate with more people, share your knowledge, experience and vision, you become a natural leader in your community. Don’t think you must be born with a “leader” tag on your wrist or ankle!
Leadership can be learned and must be trained.
While it’s true that the calling to be an artist brings you closer to the calling of being a leader, one does not automatically lead to the other. It takes work and determination.
But investing in your leadership capacities is investing in yourself and your impact on the world around you. And it’s an essential element if you want to create a sustainable community and group of followers and fans around you.
